JOB TITLE:          Police Patrol Sergeant

DEPARTMENT:   Police Officer- City of Lead.

GENERAL DUTIES:   

Performs general police duties in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. Investigates and prevents crimes. Supervises police officers in performance of regularly assigned patrols and incident investigations; prepares shift notices and assignments; conducts pre-hire evaluations of prospective police officer candidates; conducts performance evaluations; makes recommendations directly to the Chief in matters concerning employee discipline and retention. Work flexible hours to include 12 hr shifts, weekends, holidays, and nights. Will be on-call on for shifts opposite of the Chief of Police, with on-call compensation. We offer a competitive benefits package. Compensation: Previous supervisor experience: $29.26 starting wage for 90 days probation, after successful completion of probation $30.26. No supervisory experience: $29.26, with probation up to 1 year before raise. Step raises are available for certain certifications.
